2019
Earth Elders
Covid unease rippled through the world in early 2020. Matthew responded by putting a call out to the leaders, healers, sound weavers, storytellers, cultural teachers and elders in his wider tribes. Within days over 2000 had answered the call to share and hold the wider community through these times. An online festival was hosted in a facebook group Matthew named Earth Elders. Within 3 weeks 53,000 people had joined from all over the world. It was alive, buzzing and beautiful like nothing we'd ever seen online before. For those involved it felt like we were part of something really important in those times.
The online festival went for 3 months and continued in waves for the next 3 years. New ground was set in what was possible online. Strong allyships were formed that continue to this day, and many of those who presented and facilitated at the festival acknowledge that it was a turning point in their journeys as leaders and forces of change.
Matthew spent 3 months working full-time on this community project, giving his hours freely and without asking for anything in return. As Matthew says 'it was an honour to hold the vision of something so beautiful and to have the skills and capacity to serve my human family in a moment of need'.
2019
Conscious Leaders
In 2019 Matthew moved in with some dear friends who lived in a big beautiful house on the Gold Coast, Australia. The house was 3 stories with a pool and a big verandah overlooking the ocean and the city in the near-distance. Within weeks of Matthew moving in the group decided to host a gathering at the house which they called Conscious leaders. Leaders, coaches, local practitioners, healers, permaculturalists, teachers, musicians etc all came along and it was clear something big was stirring.
They held the first event in their lounge room and 27 people came, by the fourth event people were spilling out onto the balcony with over 60 humans in the space. Moving to a local venue opened up space for more to join each fortnight. 88 people, 110, 120, 150. Something wild and magical was happening and it was much more than just an event; the community was coming together like never before, hundreds of people were stepping into their power and their purpose in deeper ways all at once; the whole region was beginning to bubble and pop.
Within months 4 other cities were holding regular Conscious Leaders events. Attendees would sometimes drive for hours to attend the gatherings. The mycellium network was well and truly working its magic in the collective.
In early 2020 covid hit the world like a tidal wave and the movement went underground.
2021-2025
Karma Naro
In the foothills of the Black Mountains there is a farm house turned temple on 110 acres that is woven into modern Tibetan Buddhist lore. The Karmapa himself blessed the grounds and visited in 1976 with 72 people cramming into the lounge room to sit with him.
It is said that the air tingled, the karmapa changed forms in front of their eyes, and magic took place in that room on that day.
From that day on the room became a shrine to the Karmapa and many pilgrims visited from all around the world over the decades that followed.
Between 2021 and 2024, with the consent of Kurt the home owner and founder, Matthew moved into the house and became the temporary custodian of Karma Naro. Immersed in the temple field Matthew became an unofficial initiate of the lineage.
It was here in the temple field of Karma Naro that Matthew would deepen his understanding of the shapeshifting arts and begin teaching the mysteries of Spine, Root and Belonging.
2021
New Dreamings
As the world journeyed the madness of the covid years, gatherings were outlawed or had to take place in secret.
In a rare window between lockdowns Matthew (with the support of Sara Goode) put on a micro-festival he named 'New Dreamings'. This gathering brought together a community that had been emerging through those challenging times.
This was a not-for-profit gathering, held devotionally to support he community. It was an enriching time that gave new relationships a chance to develop and many of those threads of connections continue to this day. Matthew walked away as the proud owner of a big stainless cooking pot which you can still see full of stews and soups at gatherings he holds to this day.
2023-2025
School of Living Myth
School of Living Myth was born as part of an ongoing commitment to seed genuine mystery schools back into the Western World.
We spent two years exploring together as an intimate community of emerging leaders and deep listening beings each committed to their own deepening and personal refinement.
The School represented a more advanced playground than the shamanic training schools and entry level mystery school which had begun to populate the field.
We were an authentic, gritty and radically human community that came together weekly online in circle, council, and connection as well as through a monthly class delivered by Matthew.
We also hosted a circle of Elders who came together in sittings called The Elder Tree.
For those that stayed the course generations of learning played out in just a couple of years and the lessons from this project will be taken forward with us into future mystery school and temple dreamings.
School of Living Myth became the soil from which Ritual Council was able to grow.
2025-Ongoing
Raising Albion
The Spine of Albion is a leyline and ancient pilgrimage route that stretches from The Isle of White to Durness in Far-North Scotland. In Early 2025 Matthew set out on an 880 mile pilgrimage along this path. He would walk to stir the soul of these lands and her people, to honour his late Grandfather, and to deepen his relationship with these Sacred Isles.
The task ahead was immense, particularly after 15 months bedbound with chronic illness and a knee injury. Feeling it was unlikely he would complete the pilgrimage and wondering if the wider community would rally to the call, Matthew set off in the middle of Winter.

2011-Ongoing
Sacred Theatre
Sacred Theatre was developed by Matthew over 14 years and became one of the primary modalities used in School of Living Myth. As a practice is involves an exploration of what it means to be human, and holds an invitation to come home to ourselves and each other through embodied presence, self-revealing, and emergent ceremony.
This isn’t really about performance, there is no script to follow. We enter into a living process where the theatre is life itself, unfolding in real time.
Through a weaving of explorative ceremonial practices, belly listening, and simply ‘being with what is’ we create a shared field, a culture of honesty, reverence, and connection.
This is not about arriving anywhere. Like other open-ended practices Sacred Theatre invites you into a space of ongoing exploration, listening and becoming.
This is both a deeply personal practice and naturally a collective experience.
Participants often find this work transformational and grounding, a space to connect to deeper layers of themselves and be met by others in ways that are uncommon and radically real.
Matthew continues to teach and offer Sacred Theatre as part of all his temple level offerings.
2023
Earth Elders
In 2023 Four of the Elders and Cultural Teachers that had been key forces in Matthew's journey over the early 2020's were invited to come and sit with the community online and share their whispers with our community.
